This is the third installment of my horror movie quiz.
It first started out on my danish horror blog Unrated.dk, which was converted into a movie quiz due to a lack of time to review movies.

The interest in the quiz was quite large so I decided to move the quiz to the domain TheHorrorQuiz.com. And thus the second installment of the quiz began. At that time it was a biweekly quiz with 17 questions. At one point I also started a poster quiz which overlapped with the regular horror quiz, but in the winter of 2011 it all slowed down a bit, since I was having trouble finding the time to make all the quizzes.

In January 2012 the site was relaunched with a whole new quiz concept. Instead of the 17 movies there were now 40 movies to guess. I also implemented a new rating system. This concept has now been refined a bit, and as of March 2012 we have the site you are looking at right now.

The Basics

But WHAT IS TheHorrorQuiz? Well, it is basically a movie quiz made by and for horror enthusiasts. This implies that the screenshots used in the quizzes are from movies categorized as horror movies. However, because our quizmaster not always agrees on IMDb's categorization of movies, it is not safe to base your guesses 100% on their categorisation.

The quiz consists of 40 screenshots/movie posters from different horror movies. The quizmaster will try and vary these screenshots in difficulty, so it is not only a quiz for the extreme hardcore horror aficionados.
The quiz will start the first day of each month and end one day prior to the start of the next quiz.

As mentioned above, the site also has a rating system where you will be given a rating according to how many movies you have guessed in each quiz. The ratings are:

  0-30% correct: Sweet & Innocent

• 

  31->50% correct: Seen the Mainstream

• 

  51->70% correct: Seen the Classics

• 

  71->90% correct: Seen the Nasty

• 

  91->100% correct: Devil Incarnate
